Luna
Oregano
Woven by an Italian Mill steeped in family history and tradition handed down through generations Luna is a refined take on boucle. Our mill partner in Italy complies with the European ‘REACH’ regulations to ensure raw materials, yarns and dyestuffs are sourced in a safe and responsible manner.
Luna is unique in its fine but voluminous boucle texture, woven with carefully curated tone on tone yarns, that work in harmony together to create a subtle contrast and depth. A beautiful hand feel has been created through the blending of several fibres, this along with the two-tone colouration will make this fabric more forgiving of day-to-day occurrences. The looped yarn upholsters particularly well with organic and curvilinear shapes adding texture and refraction of light from the surface for a subtle lustre.
Available in a broad colour palette that combines playful use of colour to add a touch of drama or muted shades for a more sophisticated look to compliment all interiors.
Composition: 30% wool, 30% polyester, 25% acrylic, 13% cotton, 2% polyamide
Width: 137cm
GSM: 555
Pilling: 4
Martindale: 35,000
Light Fastness: 4-5
Styling Notes
- Textural fabric with traditional boucle look, created through irregular weave with boucle weft thread, some two-tone colours.
- Stable fabric that is particularly well suited to curves, variation makes it forgiving.
- Well suited to armchairs, sofas, ottomans and beds – both relaxed and tailor upholstery. Some pilling can occur with heavy use but can be easily shaved back.
- Not ideal for dining, due to texture.
- Boucle yarn by nature could get caught in clawed rings or pulled by pet claws.
Care
Dry Clean Only.
To protect your upholstered furniture and keep it looking fresh, follow these care tips:
Avoid Direct or Reflected Sunlight: Prolonged exposure to sunlight can cause fading and deterioration. Keep your furniture away from windows, or use blinds/curtains to block harsh rays.
Regular Vacuuming: Use a vacuum with a non-rotating upholstery head to gently remove dust and dirt. If not removed regularly, dust and dirt can accumulate on the fabric. Over time, these particles can react with UV light, leading to fabric bleaching and causing the fabric to fade. To prevent this, it's essential to vacuum your furniture regularly and ensure any dirt or dust is promptly removed. Frequent vacuuming will also help remove loose fibres and foreign particles, which can reduce pilling (those little fuzzy balls that form on the surface).
Maintain Fabric Loft: For boucle and pile fabrics, regular vacuuming is essential to maintain the loft and prevent matting or flattening.
Rotate Cushions: If possible, rotate your cushions to ensure even wear. This will prevent certain areas from wearing out faster than others, keeping your furniture looking balanced.
Spill Management: Clean spills immediately by blotting (not rubbing) with a damp cloth. Avoid scrubbing, as it can damage the fabric. For tough stains, it’s best to consult a professional cleaning service to ensure safe and effective stain removal
Pilling: Pilling can occur as a result of normal daily wear and should not be considered a defect. Fibre pills form when loose fibres on the surface of the fabric become tangled. These pills can easily be removed using a battery-operated pilling tool, which is available at most haberdashery or fabric stores. Regular care can help minimize pilling and maintain appearance
Dye Transfer: Dye transfer is another consideration for fabric care. This occurs when dye from an external source, such as unwashed new dark-coloured denim or raw indigo garments, is transferred onto upholstery fabric. To avoid dye transfer, ensure any new dark fabrics are washed before coming into contact with your furniture.
Fabric Protection: To prolong the life of your fabric, we highly recommend having it protected by Premium Surface Protection (PSP). Please be aware that fabric protection methods can vary significantly in both their effectiveness and environmental impact. PSP is the only method endorsed by Jardan. Using an alternative fabric protection method may void your fabric warranty. Please Note
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure the colours depicted on our website of materials and products accurately reflect the way they appear in person, Jardan advises that there may be variation between these due to a combination of factors including computer monitor, screen settings and lighting as well as a level of true variation in the products themselves. We work with many natural materials as well as handmade artisan products where a level of variation is to be expected and celebrated. It is therefore recommended that you view products in person prior to ordering where possible, or request swatches and additional information from our sales teams.
